It doesn’t bother me at all that PC users are in with me. I could not care less about having cross-play disabled. ![]() OK, so trigger warning: I know that PC vs console is a passion topic for many.I play on Xbox. Staten acknowledged that “these last few months have been slower than we expected,” but that’s for a good reason: Providing a healthy work environment for the teams so that they can keep delivering great new content for Halo Infinite in the coming months. Even though we’re now halfway through the game’s first multiplayer season, Halo Infinite could also really use more maps and add an option to disable cross-play, something that Xbox players have been asking since launch. Halo Infinite is in a somewhat bizarre place right now: The game had a very successful release with over 20 million players across Xbox and PC, though the absence of Campaign co-op and Forge at launch prevented the game to reach more momentum. “We are already flighting Forge to a small group of community creators and working closely with them to ensure that all of you have a terrific experience creating, sharing, browsing, and playing Forge content,” Staten explained. If Campaign co-op has been slightly delayed, Halo Infinite’s Forge Mode is still on track for the game’s Season 3. “we are still aiming to deliver Campaign network co-op later in Season 2, and we will share a release date for that and for split-screen co-op as soon as we can,” Staten said. Halo Infinite was the first game in the series to introduce a semi-open world in the game’s campaign, and there’s no doubt that implementing co-op isn’t as seamless as it used to be in the previous games, which were far more linear. We’re also committed to a great 2-player split-screen co-op experience on all Xbox consoles, from the original Xbox One through Xbox Series X-and the non-linear, wide-open sections of the Campaign present some big challenges for split-screen that have taken us more time to solve,” explained Joseph Staten, Head of Creative on Halo Infinite. “It’s going to take more time to land a high-quality, full-featured 4-player network co-op experience in the massive, wide-open world of Halo Infinite. Developer 343 Industries recently explained that addressing the game’s critical issues was the team number one’s priority, which means that the Co-op campaign is now expected to ship “later” during Season 2. This has allowed Rockstar to have all of the attention to itself, which is instrumental to making these games feel like a cultural event. The much-anticipated Co-op mode for Halo Infinite’s Campaign won’t be ready for the game’s Season 2, which will kick off on May 3rd. That has historically what has happened with previous Rockstar game announcements and its probably fair to expect that to happen again. Rockstar Games is so tight lipped and careful that the reveal could happen on a random Tuesday without us having any idea its coming. ![]() As such dataminers, would be able to pick these things out and likely get a taste of what's coming if the actual reveal was tied to a GTA Online update.Īs of right now, we can only speculate. The insider noted that if Rockstar tries to time the reveal of GTA 6 with the ten year anniversary of GTA 5 in September/October, it would need to begin planting the seeds in earlier updates. Over on the GTA Forums, longtime Rockstar insider Tez2 speculated that the next time we get an update on GTA 6 could be this summer, though in a slightly unofficial capacity. With that said, fans think 2023 is the year we finally get to see the game.
